Day 5 (Hakodate) Blog
Highlights: Seafood don, melon
We have the freshest seafood don in Hakodate Morning Market! The raw sashimi bowl is so fresh and generous in amount! Hakodate has the most reasonable sashimi bowl in Hokkaido, unlike those in Sapporo city which has a lot of tourist trap. Sashimi lovers must come here if visit Hakodate, which is about 5 hours drive from Sapporo city.
We have the juiciest and sweetest melon ever in Hakodate Morning Market! The market is closed around 2pm and we able to get discounted melon slice just before the market closed. In Furano and Otaru area, we have seen one slice of melon is priced at 400JPY to 450JPY. However, in Hakodate area, the usual price for one slice of melon is at 300JPY! And what's the best part of it, we get the melon at only 200JPY just before the market closed! It is about 50% discount than other place! Yayy! The melon is ripe already and when the shop owner cuts it using knife, the juice directly flows down to the plastic plate. When you first bite the melon, the juice will just burst out into your mouth, followed by the sweet juice of melon, then it directly melts away, we hardly chew it as it is too soft and melts directly in our mouth, no kidding! Hokkaido Yubari melon is very expensive as it is cultivated with care in Yubari area and it is known as the most expensive fruit in the world! The highest price that has been sold for one melon costs about RM80k! You have to taste Yubari melon when you are in Hokkaido!

Day 4 (Otaru & Sapporo) Blog
Highlights: Japanese curry rice
We have the best Japanese curry rice over here! It has a lot of branches in Hokkaido. The one we eat is situated in Otaru. They have choices of curry with intensity ranges from 1 to 10 which is mild (i.e. not so dare diner) to most spicy (i.e. bravo diner)! You can mix and match the side dishes such as vegetables and potatoes. Apart from that, Hokkaido rice is very nice to eat and chew, the shape of the rice is full and texture is so nice to eat. Unlike the one we eat in hometown, the rice here is very nice to eat personally already, and what's more when you mix with the tasty curry beside! It is just so fulfilling and satisfying! Coco Ichibanya also has outlets in Singapore, however nothing beats those in origin country Japan! Still authentic the best right?

Day 6 (Lake Toya & Noribetsu) Blog
Highlights: Buffet dinner, snow crab
We have Hokkaido's snow crab in Noribetsu Manseikaku hotel! Our stay in the hotel give us free entree of buffet dinner. However, it does not include snow crab, you have to pay extra for the order, but the price over there is considered cheap compared to outside. Initially we thought snow crab will be included in the menu as we see there are many tables with snow crab plate on table, however soon after we realize that those tables are belonged to tour group. Still to prevent disappointment, we spend money to order snow crab because seafood in Hokkaido is so famous that one must try! The buffet dinner has wide varieties of choices, inclusive chef handmade sushi on the spot, rice, noodles, dishes, sashimi, fruits, unlimited soft serve and desserts etcetera. The snow crab is raw and we not realize until almost finish the plate! They just served us the crabs together with lemons and just squeeze on top of crabs and you can enjoy the dish already. The meat is tender and so fresh that we can't even imagine they are raw!

Day 6 (Lake Toya & Noribetsu) Blog
Highlights: Grilled chicken, Pizza, Scenic view
We have the best lunch view here in Harvester Yakumo!
Sit in outdoor and enjoy the nature, enjoy the foods overlooking the vast green farm field and ocean which connects with the blue sky! It is KFC owned farm to table restaurant and has the delicous stone oven pizza! The reared chickens are tasty and served in different styles such as grilled and fried. You can mix them with french fries and salad as well. For pizza, they bake them in the stone oven in the restaurant which make the skin of the pizza smells charcoal and delicious when smell and crunchy when bite. Good foods with beautiful landscape, who would say no?

Day 5 (Hakodate) Blog
Highlights: Chicken burger, Prawn burger
We have the most famous burger chain restaurant in Hakodate! It has many branches in Hakodate and all the them with own unique theme. This famous burger restaurant can be found only in Hakodate, so make sure you try it when you visit Hakodate! The best seller is chinese chicken burger! No doubt, this chicken burger is tasty as the chicken meat is tender and fulfilling, fried to perfection and topped with sweet sauce. The chicken meat is not the flat chicken patty that we usually get from fast food, but there are 3 big chicken balls in between the breads. The cheese french fries are not bad as well. Do I mention that, the menu is very affordable as well? Local and good quality foods that come with friendly price tag, no wonder it is famous not only among tourists, but locals as well!

Day 4 (Otaru & Sapporo) Blog
Highlights: Desserts, LeTao puff
We have the most varieties of desserts here in Otaru! Strolling along the Otaru street, you will find yourself fall into food heaven! Apart from the beautiful Japanese style neighbourhood and varieties of souvenir shops, there are many cafes and buildings in Otaru which sell tons of desserts and cookies! The best part is many shops offer free tasting for us! So you get to try the cookies that you like and just decide to buy after that! No need to worry that we will get the snacks which end up not suitable for our taste buds. They are generous in giving the free snack samples which is a big plus point, compared to other places which may give lesser samples or worst still none. There are many cute cafes in Otaru as well and limited time puff in LeTao shop. The puff is truly delicious with crunchy skin outside and creamy texture inside! I can eat all sorts of dessert in Otaru and skip lunch! Haha.. Dessert lover will fall in love in Otaru!

We have the most scenic lavender farm and countryside view when dine here! The lavender smell spreads in the air and it is so calming and enjoyable to eat our foods in this cafe! The cafe is located on 2nd floor which makes the view is so beautiful as you can see afar and have the panoramic view to yourself! Since it is summer, flowers are in full bloom and Furano train is also in the operation. Furano train is operating only in summer so visitors can reach Farm Tomita easily from other parts in Hokkaido. The Furano train will passby occasionally and you get to see them when you eat here. Imagine yourself enjoying the foods, with the picturesque view in front of your eyes which is an infinity view of lavender flowers, Japanese villages and cute train in front! It just feels like painting!
