👉 As part of birthday celebration for my husband, we came to this famous restaurant in Singapore for a casual yet romantic dining in a garden-like environment.
2. What do you expect to dine in this restaurant?
👉 French cuisines with a wide varieties of appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks.
3. What is the recommended time to dine in this restaurant?
👉 Recommended to come during dinner for the warm lighting environment. Remember make reservation via Chope to avoid disappointment.
We visited The Summerhouse on Saturday night for celebrating my husband's birthday. We had made reservation 2 days before and able to secure a table for 2. Singapore is just opened for dine in few days ago and allowed 2 people per table. Since it is just newly reopened for dine in, the restaurant is still not fully packed even in weekend. For normal period, it might be better for you to secure table one week before if you plan to visit it especially at weekend.
The Summerhouse is nestled amongst the lush greenery of Seletar area in Singapore. You can dine in a garden like environment in The Summerhouse. The Seletar area has several restaurants and all of them are tucked in the beautiful greenery, away from the hustle and bustle, much like a mini getaway to escape from the city. There are 3 main dining areas for The Summerhouse as below:
a) Wildseed Bar & Cafe
👉 Casual bar and cafe at the ground level of the restaurant building
b) French Dining Room (**our visit**)
👉 Formal dining room at the level 1 of the restaurant building
c) Garden Dome
👉 Most unique and romantic private 'igloo house' garden dome dining, ideal for special occasion 💜

We were escorted to the upstairs of the restaurant, which was the Dining Room. As we had made a reservation online, the waitress led us to our tables directly. Our table was very far away from the rest of the diners and it felt 'private' in the sense. Since it was just reopened for dining few days ago after Singapore lockdown, the restaurant was quite empty as well, only few tables occupied for the whole level of Dining Room. I adored the privacy in which I could talk 'loudly' or 'freely'? 😅

After seated, we just scanned the QR code on top of the table for the dining menu. There were set menu available, which priced at $70/pax. For 2 people, we could share appetizers, 2 main course dishes, sides, and 1 dessert. There were also ala carte menu available, if your preferred main course dish was not inside the set menu. For us, we chose ala carte, because I would like to order 2 dessert 😂 All of them look so nice to me and I was drooling over them! 😋

👉 Soft Cooked Pork Collar with Brown Sauce - $34

| Slow Cooked Pork Collar ($34): The meat was cooked till perfection, not too hard nor too soft, slow cooked to the best timing. It paired nicely with the brown butter sauce too. |

| Red Snapper ($38): The flesh was tender and juicy, especially added with olives sauce, which smoothened the fish meat. Some grilled vegetables such as tomato and olives provided. They had added in some edible flowers too. |

| Chocolate ice cream/vanilla custard/hazelnut cookies ($15): Surprisingly good texture and thick flavour of chocolate ice cream. Vanilla custard was not the 'foamy' type, it was quite thick. When ate both chocolate ice cream and vanilla custard together, the texture became thicker and this further raised the feeling of 'chocolate-ty' inside your mouth! The hazelnut chocolate chip cookies was crunchy and nice too! Overall 5/5 from us! Definitely recommended dessert to try! 😍 |

| Elderflower Sorbet/Mint Jelly/Crispy Yogurt/Honeycomb/Fresh Strawberries ($14): The sorbet mixed nicely with chewy 'doih doih' jelly. Then it was the crispy flakes, edible flowers and strawberry, which further enhance the refreshing and juicy taste. A creative & super refreshing dessert to cleanse your tongue after the main course! Overall 4.5/5 from us! 😋 |

The Summerhouse features the most unique dining experience in Singapore, one of a kind which can't be seen elsewhere in Singapore, which is the Garden Dome! It is a private 'igloo house' nestled in the lush greenery, at the garden outside the restaurant. It is tucked away from the bar and dining building, and this means away from the crowds which let you dine in a quiet environment. The waiter/waitress will bring all dishes into your own private and air conditioned garden dome and you can enjoy slowly in the dome with your own pace, most important is the privacy and away from crowd! Thus, this garden dome is the top proposal place in Singapore indeed! Come over here for some nice private dining time with your love one! 😍 The dome can actually fit 2-8 people at max, you can hold a private birthday party with your family and friends here too! 😉
Although the main selling point of The Summerhouse is this Garden Dome, however we do not choose this at last. The set menu is about the same with Dining Room, but the price is quite steep, starting from $350 per pax on the weekdays, and $380 per pax on the weekend! Also, we have traveled to London before and dined in the restaurant which had the same kind of 'igloo house' concept on end of 2019. The restaurant name is called Coppa Club. It is famous for the night view, which overlooks the iconic Tower Bridge & Shard Tower, just beside the beautiful Thames River too! 😍 Both of them have quite the same kind dining experience, except The Summerhouse is more private and away from crowd. The Summerhouse is dining in garden feeling, and Coppa Club is dining in a well lit beautiful city. No harm to try both in your traveling journey too! 👍✌
