After trip from Lucerne, we went to Lungern town for a short walk. It was about 45 minutes train ride from Lucerne, just boarded the train from Lucerne to Interlaken direction, and on the way you will reach Lungern town. From Lungern to Interlaken, it is another 1 hour train ride. You can't miss this spot because the lake there was beautiful and caught attention easily. Lungern is a very small village which you can easily explore finish in 1-2 hours.

Different from those famous village in Switzerland such as Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, Lungern shows a warmer and homey side of locals life in Switzerland. The houses in Lungern are decorated nicely with cute details, lush garden, and even put the name of their kids and year of birth on the house's wooden signboard!

TIPS: For (b) and (c), it is only possible if you rent a car. It is quite a distance away from public transport. If you only use public transport, opt for (a) only.
👉 Lungern town is roughly in the middle of Lucerne and Interlaken. Board the Lucerne-Interlaken express to reach Lungern. It is a pleasurable 2 hours ride with breathtaking scenery of mountains, waterfalls and five crystal clear lakes. The beautiful view outside of train changing from one to another town, makes Lucerne-Interlaken express a must scenic train ride for 1st timer who visits Switzerland.
👉 Lucerne-Interlaken route is actually part of scenic Golden Pass Line. Golden Pass line is leading from Lucerne then go to Interlaken (base for Jungfraujoch mountain excursion) then at the end go to Montreux (another town in Switzerland, famous for Unesco vineyard terraces). So it is a good way to experience scenic train ride since Lucerne and Interlaken are two of the most famous towns that usually visitors choose to stay as the base to explore Switzerland. The Golden Pass Line route as below:
(a) Luzern - Interlaken Ost
(b) Interlaken Ost - Zweisimmen
(c) Zweisimmen - Mountreux
TIPS: Buy the train tickets online. Seat reservation is not compulsory but can be made HERE if you are traveling in peak season and want to secure a good view seating.
TIPS: For those Swiss Travel Pass holder, the ride is totally free of charge!

| This was the last photo we took before our tripod and camera got blown away by strong wind here.. Tried to fix the camera and spend some fortunes on next day, but it only lasted for 1 day, not even till our trip in Greece (going to Greece after Switzerland). So sad 😞😢 我们在这里拍的最后一张照片，大风一吹就把三脚架和相机给吹到了。。 隔一天我们去瑞士市镇买了一些镜头之类的，价格不便宜，不过只用个一天，又坏了， 过后去了希腊那几天（结束瑞士后我们去希腊），都没有相机。。好伤心 😞😢 |
