Thanks for the supports as always! 🤟💗

We visited Bynd Artisan+Sunday Folks in Ion Orchard Experience Store on Sunday weekend for teatime moment. It is a new cafe in town opened in Singapore on end of August, with the collaboration on two big brands namely Bynd Artisan and Sunday Folks. Bynd Artisan is a famous handmade leather and paper gift retail store. Sunday Folks is a famous handcraft dessert cafe. The interesting collaboration of this retail + cafe style has definitely makes this store a nice place to visit, whether it is to buy some gifts for your loved one, or just to have some luxury tea time moment chit chatting with family and friends. The interior look of the store is shimmering bright with the theme of gold-ish and white-ish decoration, which make it appears elegant in the shopping mall itself! 💃😍

The menu is quite extensive with drinks and variety types of dessert available to order. All of the desserts are so Instagrammable, trust me! 💓 My eyes have been fixed on ice cream parfait & cake before visiting this cafe, due to the beautiful outlook of the desserts which make it so tempting to savour! 👀✌ After flip through the extensive menu, we have ordered items below:

1) Ice Cream Petits Gateaux/Ice Cream Cake:

Menu Selection: Ete (blackcurrant ice cream with lemon mousse), Noir (dark chocolate ice cream tart with cherry), Marrakesh (pistachio ice cream with orange cream)

Price: SGD12 (Ete), SGD14 (Noir & Marrakesh)

Chosen Menu For Tasting: Noir

Taste Review:

  • Hard tart with dark chocolate ice cream inside, added with few big cherries.
  • The tart is not the buttery and flaky type, it is a really "hard" (but crispy) tart that is very difficult to even cut it 😂. I think the hard texture of the tart is to prevent the ice cream inside from melting it easily and become soggy which will be not nice to eat.
  • The mixture of cherries and dark chocolate ice cream make it special. They top it up with chocolate chunks for you to enjoy and also edible gold flakes which make it look even more elegant and "atas". 😎
  • Come together is an hourglass which is used as a timer to let the ice cream "soften" and blend well with the cherries. Follow the 5 minutes timer ⏲set by the waiter for the best consumption time! It is so fun to look at and while gazing at the sands dripping down, don't forget to snap photos here and there! After all, where can you get such a unique photo opportunity of dessert with hourglass in Singapore if not here! 😉📸
  • Overall personal opinion: Dark chocolate ice cream is not really high in intensity, for me I would prefer a thicker version and higher percentage of dark chocolate. But don't worry, it is not the cheap and runny type of chocolate. The quality of chocolate ice cream is still good to eat. They are very generous with big cherries too, which is not only refreshing but also elevate the dessert taste. Hourglass is cute to play with and unique kind of dessert tasting experience too!

Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4⭐

3 types of ice cream cakes to choose from.
LEFT: Ete,
RIGHT TOP: Noir,
RIGHT BOTTOM: Marrakesh

Noir. Dark chocolate ice cream tart with cherries inside.
Top with chocolate chunk and edible gold decor.
Hourglass as timer!

2) Ice Cream Parfait:

Menu Selection: Genmaicha Yuzu, Earl Grey Butterscotch, Rum Raisins & Apple.

Price: SGD18 (Slightly on steeper side but must try if you are here!)

Chosen Menu For Tasting: Earl grey butterscotch (due to most Instagrammable😂)

Taste Review:

  • A lovely combination of earl grey and butterscotch ice cream: which make it aromatic and smooth when enjoy this
  • Fresh strawberries: on top as decoration and inside the glass as a refreshing layer when mix with the rest of ingredients and put into your mouth (not the preserved strawberries which is a plus)
  • Almond biscuits: which make it crunchy and presents a different taste feeling when mix together with ice cream, nice when eat alone too as the biscuit is crisp in texture (not the "leakage of air" & "soggy" type of biscuit if you know what I mean)
  • Earl gray jelly cubes: refreshing jelly cubes in between the layer when you eat, it is chewy and Q in texture, chilling to the mouth and aromatic when you bite it
  • Overall personal opinion: a delicious treat for tea time, especially love the different layers of  taste that you can get here with just pure one dish! If you have only one thing to choose from in this cafe, please don't hesitate to opt for ice cream parfait! I have not try the rest of 2 flavors so can't compare the taste yet.

Taste Rating: 5⭐ (MUST ORDER! Nice to see, nice to hold, and even nicer to EAT! 😋)

3 types of ice cream parfaits to choose from. All of them are so beautiful!
Truly a feast to the eyes and of course afterwards palate!
LEFT: Genmaicha Yuzu,
CENTRE: Earl Grey Butterscotch,
RIGHT: Rum Raisins & Apple

Our earl grey butterscotch ice cream parfait! 💕
Consists of earl grey & butterscotch ice cream, strawberries,
almond biscuit, jelly cubes, flakes, cream and etcetera.. 😋
The main attraction of the day in this cafe! 😍
Do it for your Instagram & most important your stomach! 😆

3) Seasonal Tea:

Menu Selection: Cherry Leaves Tea, Blackcurrant Tea, Orange Tea

Price: SGD8.50 (Blackcurrant Tea, Orange Tea) & SGD9 (Cherry Leaves Tea)

Chosen Menu For Tasting: Cherry leaves tea

Taste Review:

  • Cherry leaves have only very mild tea or fruity taste.
  • Good for cleansing the palate after some sweet desserts.
  • Overall personal opinion: as cherry leaves don't have much flavors to taste, it is a refreshing drink to balance up the sweet dessert. If you would prefer stronger aromatic scented tea maybe can opt for orange or blackcurrant tea. But if you would like light and clean texture, then opt for cherry leaves tea.

Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 3.5⭐

Seasonal tea & ice quenchers menu

(In Front) Cherry tea leaves served in an elegant looking teapot.
It can retain the warmth of the tea inside so you can sip
and enjoy the tea slowly with the dessert pairing.

4) Coffee:

Menu Selection: Espresso Coffee, Filtered Coffee

Price: SGD4.50 (espresso coffee) ~ 8.50 (filtered coffee)

Chosen Menu For Tasting: Filtered Coffee (Finca Isnul)

Taste Review:

  • Finca Isnul coffee bean originated from Guantamela, central America region.
  • Tasting notes are on plums, honey and milk chocolate taste.
  • Filtered coffee is using V60 drip method which make the taste clear and fragrant to drink.
  • Overall personal opinion: nice and aromatic coffee, the intensity is quite strong too! Coffee lovers will love this for sure! As it has been filtered, there is no powdery feeling and thus left a very clean and smooth taste when you sip through it, afterwards the aromatic smell of coffee beans flows out and lingers slowly on your tongue. Special leather holder from Bynd Artisan has been incorporated here too which make it fun while pouring the coffee!

Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4⭐

Coffee and cocoa drink menu

(Behind) Filtered coffee served in a glass mug.
There is a leather holder from Bynd Artisan to let you hold the mug
while pouring out the coffee to the glass to drink.
A special sight to see when Bynd Artisan (leather store) cooperates with
Sunday Folks (dessert store) and how they have the creative idea to
mix and match to give you a fun tea time experience!

That's all for the sharing on Bynd Artisan + Sunday Folks @ Ion Orchard Experience Store. The total damage for 2 people was ~SGD58. Nice teatime session well spent in here! Afterwards, you can stroll and shop some leather products from Bynd Artisan too (many varieties displayed in the store, can check with staffs if you would like to customize for own product), or buy some cakes and ice cream from Sunday Folks if you are hunger for more desserts! Overall I get my craving fixed on good quality desserts here and definitely satisfy all the Instagrammers too with the fun hourglass and beautiful ice cream parfait! I will be back for more in future to try their ice cream when I am in Orchard too 💖! Till then, Bye-bye! 👋

TIPS: Come here during weekdays teatime session to save some bucks!

During this pandemic season, everyone is trapped in their own country and couldn't be able to travel overseas for some relaxation and adventure. We are so delighted when we have the chance to have the first ever vacation after nearly 2 years due to pandemic, and what's more, it is our virgin cruise experience together! 💏 I am not really the person that will enjoy cruising as I have sea sickness and nausea easily. Whenever I sit boat I will get sick and thus I am worried that with the money spent, I can not enjoy the holidays as much as I can. Nonetheless, we went ahead to book the cruise few months back, as vacation away from work is so much needed for us, frankly we are quite bored trapped ourselves in this Singapore island. 😏

There are 2 choices for cruise in Singapore for this year 2021, namely Genting Dream Cruise (cheaper) and Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas Cruise (more expensive). At first, we had booked Genting Dream Cruise, but later of the day after few research online, we have decided to cancel the booking and book Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas Cruise. There are a lot of reviews online comparing these 2 cruises, and the later always win, in term of foods and entertainment shows. Genting offers more to buffet style foods and more to casino gambling ship. Royal is more to top notch service and elegant style with specialty fine dining foods and world class entertainment shows. Although Royal price is almost double of Genting, I am really glad that I have decided to go with Royal at the end! 😍 You will know why after you read all of my upcoming blog reviews!

Due to the pandemic that happening globally, t his is a cruise to nowhere, meaning that we will not leave the cruise throughout the whole trip. Initially I am worried if it will be boring for the 5d4n cruise to nowhere with only on board activities, but I am so so so wrong! I just back from the cruise few days ago and I feel that 5d4n cruise to nowhere is so much fun and I thoroughly enjoy those on board activities offered! Honestly, I still have a lot more activities yet to do, I think it would be better if it  is 7d6n trip! 😂 Plus, I do not experience sea sickness during this trip, yeahh! I can feel it is sailing sometime with very mild effect, I am not feeling sick at all, I am so glad that I able to enjoy the holidays! 😜

We have the best sea-cation with Royal Caribbean Cruise, Quantum of the Seas. It is a 5d4n cruise-to-nowhere holidays surrounding   vicinity of Singapore island. It is such a pampering and luxurious virgin cruise trip for us! I am looking forward to even more cruise holidays in future! Royal Caribbean really raises up the bar for a luxury cruise holidays and I will certainly be back for more in future! Kudos to all the crew members and staffs on board, from housekeeper (who make cute towel animals daily to surprise you!), personal waitresses for each dining table (who remember your food preference and surprise you with more and more foods, the portion is very generous!), managers (who talk to you during dinner every night and give us strawberry chocolate dessert at the end of the trip), staffs (who help to make booking for your activities easily) and so much more! We feel truly pampered and experience a "royalty" holidays from the good care of crew members and staffs. Amidst the pandemic season, we are blessed to be able to escape and have an enjoyable "overseas" holidays! Thank you, Royal team! 💖😘   I am missing the trip so much already by the time I set my foot on Singapore island again, you will be missed and see you soon!  😘

Our Cruise Details:

Cruise Name: Quantum of the Seas
( Note: Quantum of the Seas has been sailing in Singapore for year 2021, and forecast to continue till Feb 2022, any news on the date extension need to refer to official website Link)
Sailing Duration: 5 Days 4 Nights
Sailing Period: 9 Sep 2021 - 13 Sep 2021
Price: SGD 1400 for 2 pax (without upgrade to unlimited dining and unlimited alcoholic drinks and without WiFi on board)
Capacity: 4180 guests (double occupancy) OR 4905 guests (maximum occupancy) + 1.5k crew
(Note: during our Sep 2021 sailing, the capacity is about 50%, which is ~2k guests)
Total Deck/Floor: 16th
Room Type: Balcony Stateroom with Ocean View
( Note: We stay in level 12, forward deck. You can choose the exact room number you want prior to the trip! I have researched for each deck and found that deck 8 to deck 12 have the best room to stay and potentially the best to avoid from the sound of crowds. As majority of the cruise activities and restaurants are in deck 3/4/14/15.)
( Tips: The stateroom location for each deck is categorized into Forward, Mid-Ship, and Aft. I think is advisable to get Mid-Ship, as it is easier to access to the restaurants and activities on board. Since Mid-Ship is the center of ship, it will be more stable and good for those who prone to sea sickness too I guess.)
( Tips: Opt for balcony room to enjoy the deck. You can bring up to 2 bottles of wine per room as well during Royal cruise! Best to enjoy wine with the ocean view at deck. For budget travelers, opt for interior room without window. For luxury travelers, opt for suite! For suite, you can have early boarding time, VIP seats for entertainment shows, private jacuzzi in the room yourself, personal butler, private sun deck and pool access for suite only, and etcetera)
( Tips: Price for room differs according to peak/shoulder/low season. The price order from cheapest to most expensive is listed here: Interior --> Ocean View --> Balcony (our choice & most popular) --> Suite. the most updated price can be checked from the official website  Link )

If you wonder what is the rod extended out at the highest, it is actually called North Star, which is an observation deck to let you have a bird eye view of ocean and the cruise!

A look inside Quantum of the Seas. Some of the activities you can join during the cruise! During my Sep 2021 sailing, all of them are still valid, except for the Dream Works Experience and roller rink. Royal will change entertainment shows (not sure how frequent) every now and then,  so frequent cruise visitors won't get bored by the same performance again and again!  Talk about great efforts here by Royal Team! 👍

Morning world, it is our 5th day, the last day in Quantum of the Seas for this 5d4n holidays. We come to buffet restaurant to enjoy our breakfast then bid farewell to Royal Caribbean Cruise already.

Itinerary Summary:

Day 5:

💜  Breakfast at Windjammer Buffet Restaurant
💜  Check Out

Breakfast @ Windjammer Buffet Restaurant

Venue: Deck 14
Booking Method:  not applicable, only can walk in and queue

On our last day, we come to buffet restaurant for breakfast. Usually we go to main dining to enjoy our breakfast and don't have a chance to visit this buffet restaurant. Since today is last day already, let's come to visit this restaurant at least once before the trip ends. Buffet restaurant has a little bit more food varieties compare to Main Dining, but the crowds are a lot more especially families with kids. Windjammer buffet restaurant is a better choice if you are traveling with kids. They can take foods and drinks they want freely from the counter (and more spaces for them to move and run around?! 😂). For us, we prefer Main Dining much more than here, the environment is more relaxed and elegant, food decoration is beautiful, service is better since they attend to each tables. Unlike buffet restaurant, you need to queue for foods and take those with you yourself to the table, no food decoration, environment is quite noisy with kids and crowds. You may try both for your cruise trip, no harm right? 😁

Tips: Windjammer buffet restaurant is a casual family friendly restaurant. Main Dining is more classy and enjoys better service from the crew.

Tips: Both Windjammer buffet restaurant and Main Dining serve quite similar types of food and drink menu. Main Dining is more to service,  food decoration and relaxed environment. Windjammer is more to food varieties and fun of exploring around feeling spoilt of choice. For those who feels shy to order too much in Main Dining, buffet restaurant is a good choice! 😁

Interior look of Windjammer Buffet Restaurant

Cruise arrives in Singapore already..

Enjoy our last breakfast with ocean view. His face looks sad.. 😔

Miss the trip so much already.. Although I am forcing myself to smile here.. 😏😞

Check Out

We have been assigned check out time at about 8.30am. Housekeeper will put the notice on top of your bed on Day 4 evening to inform you the check out time. They are controlling the crowd by assigning specific check out time by room number. Just follow your assigned time accordingly. Of course, there are some folks still enjoying their leisure time on cruise because they have extended the holidays. FYI, you can combine 2 cruise durations together in your holidays. There are 2 types of cruise trips, which are 5D4N and 4D3N cruise. 5D4N trip starts from Thursday-Monday, and 4D3N trip starts from Monday-Thursday. If you are planning to go for 9D8N trip one shot for the holidays, it is possible too, you no need to leave the cruise on Monday as most of the folks, instead you just stay and wait for the next cruise to set sailing. The good thing is you are inside the cruise already and you can spend your half of a day on board without crowds at all! You can liaise with Royal Caribbean Cruise online and see if you are able to secure the same room, to save up the hassle of changing room too. Of course, don't worry on luggage if really need to change room, the staff will do all troublesome things for you, just relax and enjoy your trip will do! 💜

Tips: Take note of check out time (you will know on Day 4) and disembark accordingly.

Tips: To maximize the trip, consider to go for 9D8N trip! There is no need for you to disembark the cruise and you have half of a day free time on board without any crowds (on Monday), much like VVIP!

Tips: 5D4N trip starts from Thursday-Monday. 4D3N trip starts from Monday-Thursday.

Can spot the iconic Marina Bay Sands here. Welcome back to reality again... Feeling sad to go back.. 😩

Pool facility has been closed on last day of cruise for cleaning to be done,
they are ready for the next batch of customers who on board 4D3N trip soon!

That's it for Day 5. Good Bye, Royal Caribbean Cruise! Thanks for making our holidays so relaxing and pampering! It is our 1st time on board, and there will be more cruises in future for sure! 💓😎 Hopefully traveling around the world can resume soon already, then we can see you in other part of the world! 😍💙
