A*MUSE Dine & Bar @ Dorsett Hotel, Singapore

FAQ on A*MUSE Dine & Bar @ Dorsett Hotel, Singapore:

1. What attracts you to come to this restaurant?
👉 Booked by my bf to celebrate 520 special day! 💕He adores western food and there we go!

2. What you expect to dine in this restaurant?
👉 International cuisine. Hotel food style with comes with pretty decoration, but portion is a bit small for us. To be frank, because we were super hungry that time, we able to eat 3 main courses for 2 of us. However, we just ordered for 2 main courses as we would like to visit another shop for dessert time! Will blog the dessert shop soon.

3. Any set meal available in this restaurant?
👉 When we visited on weekend, no, only have ala carte meal, just like the usual hotel restaurant. On weekend and public holidays, they do have lunch and dinner ala cart buffet (refer photo at the end of the post). On weekdays, they do serve express set meal (more details can be found from the blog below).

4. Any promotion available in internet for this restaurant?
👉 YES! Eatigo promotion here! Don't say i not share with you this ho-kang-tao! Directly find the promotion link for you, all you have to do is just click and book will do!

5. What is the recommended time to dine in this restaurant?
👉 To us, both day and night time would be equally same, not crowded on weekends when we visited. Not sure about the usual weekdays set lunch time, the promotion set seems quite worth it though.

To celebrate 520 special day on year 218, we have booked ourselves a lunch for two in A*MUSE Dine & Bar @ Dorsett Hotel Singapore! Needless to say, the restaurant itself is comfortable and spacious because it is the restaurant's hotel. The menu is mainly on western, italian and asian foods. There are starters (soups), burgers and sandwiches, main course (i.e. spaghetti, steak, rice, fish and chips, noodles, ribs etc), snappy bites (i.e. french fries, handroll, sate etc), dessert (i.e. brownie, ice cream, fruit platter etc), beverages and beers. Just a simple two pages menu but is enough selection for diners.

I ordered linguine aglio olio mushroom and my bf ordered seafood fried rice. The linguine aglio olio mushroom comes in quite a small portion, but the taste itself is quite delicious, maybe a bit too bland for those who prefer salty foods. In Singapore, we tend to find foods which are mostly salty. However, this dish is not salty and is to my favourite. The mushroom has been fried together with garlic pieces which makes them smell nice and pair nicely with the linguine. Would be better if the dish has some more mushroom or bigger portion or prawn? haha. i know is not prawn spaghetti. As for the seafood fried rice tastes saltier than linguine aglio olio mushroom, however the taste is quite good as the rice is not fried too much, is just to the good temperament and you can enjoy prawns and squids together with the fragrant rice, not bad thou. Just that, my bf felt regretted for not ordering burgers or chickens as he was actually aiming for western food, but at the end of the day tempted to the seafood fried rice, ha! 😂

Seafood fried rice

Since we went during lunch hours, the view of the restaurant is bright and spacious. It is not crowded as well on weekend and you can have the space to yourselves, enjoy your meal at a slower pace and just relax your mind. I guess this restaurant is the place which serves buffet breakfast to visitors who stay in Dorsett Hotel?

Environment, shining bright 💛

Wefie time 💓

While waiting for foodsss 💑😘

Ok, so what about the stuffs I mentioned upstairs, still remember? The ala cart buffet and value daily set meal? Take a look at the photo below. Taken outside the restaurant, kind of eye catching for people when passing by. Oh ya, free flow beer & bites, click on the photo if you are interested 😎!

The big big menu on the window! Well, someone spotted free flow beers and bites?!

House of Seafood @ Punggol Settlement Singapore

FAQ on House of Seafood Punggol Singapore:

1. What attracts you to come to this restaurant?
👉 Temptation for seafood and chinese food delicacies. WHO can say NO to seafood! And especially when I grow older, I favour chinese delicacies more, rather than western foods.. Oh, aging.. Haha xD

2. What you expect to dine in this restaurant?
👉 Of course is the well known seafood! Voted the best pepper crab in Singapore. They have this 7 tower tall of seafood as well, the price tag is definitely not cheap..

3. Any set meal available in this restaurant?
👉 No, only have ala carte meal, just like the usual chinese restaurant.

4. Any promotion available in internet for this restaurant?
👉 YES! Good news for those who want to save tiny bits of money. I bought my voucher online at Fave. Scroll down to see the voucher which I have snapped previously!

5. What is the recommended time to dine in this restaurant?
👉 To us, both day and night time would be equally same, except the restaurant gets more crowded especially on weekends and at night. We dined in earlier that time at 6.30pm and slowly the restaurant becomes full house one hour later! There are folks queuing outside for seating as well.. Mind that, outdoor seating are quite hot around noon time.. We chose indoor seating as it is well air conditioned.

On a particular weekend, we planned to visit this new island in Singapore which we have yet to explore. It is Coney Island! A small island fulls of greenery and would be a good place to unwind before another hectic working week ahead. Coney Island is just adjacent to Punggol Settlement, a place which has quite a number of restaurants for you to choose from, ranging from chinese, thai, western, and etcetera. Many families and kids come here especially during weekend, to hang around the playground, cycling around, or just enjoying the sea breeze.

We had previously bought ourselves this cash voucher online and would like to give it a try! It is House of Seafood! Walked passed this previously but always have the feeling that this restaurant is way too expensive and something like will 'chop' the tourist? Haha. So it becomes a dream comes true when saw that we able to get 50% discount if we purchased online voucher by using Fave Singapore. Surprisingly, now they still have this promotion! So if you are interested, why not give it a try? Link here to direct yourself to House of Seafood cash vouchers: Fave! They have promotions of paying $50 for $100 cash voucher, and also $99 for $200 cash voucher! Really, it is 50% savings in your wallet! Parents day are coming! And it would be a great treat to your dad and mum! Who says we can't enjoy good foods at a cheap price! 😋

Fave Singapore cash voucher promotion!! Awesome! Anyone says yes here? 😈

The menu of House of Seafood is extensive. Even the way of cooking crabs also varies, ranging from chilli, black pepper (famous!), steamed, salted egg yolk (famous!), golden creamy butter, sweet and sour, and etcetera. When we passed by several tables, we can see both black pepper and salted egg yolk crabs are the most popular there. We ordered chilli crab, as I have never try chilli crab in Singapore. If you have stayed with my blog, will aware that I have tried curry crab in Singapore, in this good chinese restaurant called No. 3 Crab Delicacy I like to have fried bun (so called "mantao" in chinese) to dip into the sauce of curry or chilli. When you bite onto the fried bun, it is crispy in the outside and the curry or chilli sauced dipped will burst into your mouth like a splash, especially the curry sauce version! 😍

If you wonder on the menu of House of Seafood, may refer to link here before visiting, to check out if the dishes over there suit your taste bud or not. So let's see what we ordered for the dinner.

Yam ring! Crispy fried skin with yam filling inside, together with assorted
vegetables, prawns and nuts. Not to forget the side crispy dishes
surrounding the yam ring as well!
Price: $22 for one plate

Definitely must try special in this restaurant as they are famous for crabs!
Chilli crab as above, with the gravy filled with eggs and chilli flakes.
It is not spicy as thought. The taste is more to like tomato sauce topped with eggs?
Personal opinion, curry crab in No. 3 Crab Delicacy tasted better.
Price: $58.50 for 900g crab

6 pieces of fried mantou, for you to dip into chilli sauce!
Must order when you eat crab in Singapore. I like the crispy texure of fried mantou and
they are able to "suck" in the curry or chilli gravy into the mantou themselves,
so when you eat, the gravy sauce will burst into your mouth!
Price: $4.80 for 6 pieces

So that's the dinner for 2 of us. We have also tried their crackers, and appetizers (marinated sour fruits).

For 2 of us, we ordered chilli crab ($58.50), fried mantou ($4.80), yam ring ($22), crackers ($2), appetizers ($2), two white rice ($2) and hot tea ($2). The total bill incurred is ~ $110 inclusive of taxes. With the Fave cash voucher of $100, we need to top up an additional  $10. Hence, the total amount of money we spent by using the cash voucher and excess amount top up becomes $60. So, a luxurious seafood dinner for 2 pax at a total of $60 in Singapore top notch seafood restaurant, who are NOT tempted with this deal?! I still remembered last time we tried in No.3 Crab Delicacies, 2 of us spent ~$100 for crab and vegetable dish, even the crab alone already $60!

Idealite Vegetarian Restaurant 品味舒食 @ Bugis Village Singapore

Time to cleanse our stomach and thus we went to visit Idealite restaurant at Bugis. Apart from shopping fun in Bugis street, there are plenties of restaurants and eateries around here too. We decided to dine in Idealite vegetarian meals for today, happy stomach happy us! Don't forget to mention that Idealite is an award winning vegetarian restaurant and Bugis is the only place that you able to try out the signature vegetarian dishes!

Just like the menu stated here, Idealite uses top ingredients which bring vast benefits to our health, such as plenty of vegetables, different combination of colors for your dishes to make sure you gain proper nutrition, and they use only good type of oil such as olive oil. So you can rest assured the foods you eat here is definitely no MSG and preservatives etcetera.

Top 10 ingredients used

We first tried this vegetarian chain restaurant at Penang, Malaysia. The price of this vegetarian restaurant is definitely not cheap, but it is worth to splurge for your health occasionally (i.e. time when you feel you eat too much junks.. or time when you feel after eat healthy, you can eat more junk? 😂). After tried the restaurant in Penang and Singapore, I personally favour Penang, as I feel the taste and soup broth over there is slightly thicker than those served in Singapore.

As usual, it took long for us to flip and read through the menu, as the foods are well presented and all pack with high nutrition. After 10 minutes of flipping through the menu, I still go back to my default favourite dish - Hokkaido Miso Pumpkin Soup Ramen, as it has thick pumpkin soup broth and feel so nice in mouth, plus the ramen is wheat ramen! My bf chose Special Fried Rice, fried with olive oil and topped with nuts, vegetables and watermelons. As for drinks, we chose Orange+Pineapple and Passion Fruit+Pineapple. The menu also mentioned the benefits for your body for each type of food and drink you choose. So you can choose according to your body needs. 👍😀

After fulfilling meal, we went to Bugis and started our crazy shopping! There are plenty of shops in Bugis area and especially crowded in weekend, as it is packed with tourists and locals. We stumbled upon this cute decoration and I can't say no to bear! So that's our fruitful weekend treat 💗. Till then..

Bakalaki Greek Taverna @ Tiong Bahru Singapore

Welcome 2018 with this amazing greek cuisine dining in Singapore! The restaurant is decorated prettily and well lit and captured my attention as it is blue and white for the interior design! Well, what blue and white mean to you? It means Greece for me! Since Greece is still a bit far from grip now, let me have a sweet appetizer first before I meet you in person! I will be there and I promise it, Greece, one of the top country that I would like to travel to! 💓💓

I ran across this restaurant during my visit to Tiong Bahru for crab delicacies! Do visit my blog here for the crab delicacies. So I was aiming for crab dishes in Singapore back then that's why went to Tiong Bahru. If you have seen the post, you will know that I am craving for crab chinese delicacies that time and I have satisfied my hunger over there! While I walk around the vicinity of the No.3 Crab Delicacy restaurant, I came across this Greek restaurant called Bakalaki Greek Taverna. I told myself that I will come back to this restaurant in some days. Truly glad that we made it in one of the beautiful weekend of 2018! It has the feeling like dream comes true anyway, haha. So I was super excited that day, just like a small kid! 😁

This restaurant is opened from July 2017 and hence is a new restaurant. Thus, please remember to book this restaurant before hand or if you have forgotten to do so, do walk in early. Like us, we walked in around 6pm and not long after the restaurant already full house. Strongly recommend folks to book here, especially if you have big parties for meals that day! We were welcomed by the handsome Greece boss, which I believe is the owner of this restaurant. Then were then welcomed to be seated in the bar area as the big tables are all fully reserved or seated. There are many waiter and waitress in this restaurant and the bartenders are also fully trained. They are professional by the way they shaked and prepared the drinks for you! And they are friendly too!

So when you are blown away with the interior design of the restaurant, you will be blown away with a great varieties of food choices too when you take a look at the menu. And, so do the price.. It is above average and in our opinion, is more to expensive ranking. However, Bakalaki has secured Tripadvisor rating as no.2 here! It is rated as no. 2 restaurant among a total of 9686 restaurants in Singapore during the time we visited in January 2018! The interior design of the restaurant also costs more than million dollars as it is specially designed and well detailed!

What we have for the dinner over here? We ordered fetasaganaki cheese as appetizer/ dessert, grilled prawn and chicken with pita breads as main course, and lastly Greek yogurt as dessert! Oh can't forget also we will get complimentary breads while waiting for our foods to arrive, so you won't be so hungry, nice and warm touch! See below for foods photos.

Complimentary breads! The breads here is baked hard and crunchy, with sea salts on top and sprinkled with herbs.

Fetasaganaki cheese. You can see the texture inside is very dense and it is very very cheesy till it smells a bit goat at the end? Personally we not really know to admire this dish, but the honey and sesame are nice thou.

Grilled prawn with assorted vegetables. You can only one grilled prawn here plus one slice of lemon for you to squeeze lemon juice on top. You will get a plate of carrots, potatoes and cucumbers as vegetables as well. The portion is small, however the grilled prawn is quite nice, or maybe it is because too little? 😂

Chicken with pita breads and french fries, together with lemon and tartar juice. The portion is better. Pita breads are like pizza hard tossed skin and you can eat it together with the grilled chicken. Taste wise is not bad as well.

Greek yogurt as a nice finishing touch to this Greek cuisine! It has the same type of honey used with fetasaganaki cheese. You can find walnuts here as well! The yogurt is quite nice when mixed with the thick honey as well. Personally we prefer this over fetasaganaki dish.

Wefie to cheers for our Mediterranean Greek Dinner!

Exterior building of restaurant, facing roadside and situated at the corner.

They even have donkey here for you to take photos! The main mode of transportation in Greece yeah.

Visit here for a try on Meditteranean Greek cuisine in Singapore! It is certainly an unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant is prettily decorated and ambience is good for family, friends and lovers out there! Certainly, it is quite romantic however because it is heavily packed with diners and quite noisy, hence the romantic feeling is a bit gone. However, you get yourselves nice Greece musics and songs played inside the restaurant and temporarily immerse yourselves in Greece feeling and certainly it is insta-worthy as it boasts a super high ranking in Tripadvisor as well! Recommend to visit here to try out the dish and just enjoy the environment together with your loves one!

Mon Bijou @ Orchard Road Singapore

One day before New Year Eve, we had our French dinner at Orchard Road. We booked this French restaurant through Eatigo  mobile apps. This apps is really user friendly and most importantly, we can grab many good (by this means- cheaper 😂) deals in some decent restaurants which we have yet to explore at Singapore. Whenever we feel want to eat some nice foods and want to save bucks and really out of ideas what to eat, we will search through this apps. Is like a dating apps for us too, haha. Done promoting this useful apps for us. Let's go to the restaurant of the day - Mon Bijou. The elegant restaurant name sounds it all, a French dining in Claymore Connect, a small mall in the vicinity of the Orchard Road. It is connected to Orchard Hotel Singapore as well. So occasionally, we able to see foreigners passed by this restaurant as well. After the dinner, we can walk to Orchard Hotel Singapore to have a short spree to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decoration in the hotel also.

For the dinner, I got myself Out of the Blue (literally the receipt written fish and chips, that explains why the sophisticated menu name is so important, as that sounds mysterious and elegant, but the truth is written in receipt because it is fish and chips..😒). My bf ordered chicken parmo (chicken topped with cheese and some herbs, together with truffle chips). The truffle chips sounds sophisticated and expensive. It is quite nice however a bit salty for us. The foods here are well presented and certainly flavourful, just the downside is a bit salty for our personal opinion. However, the menu is certainly attractive and many people come here for the dessert also. This restaurant scores 4/5 at tripadvisor, and there is a board in front of the restaurant mentioned best cafe in town. To judge from the good rating, it may be a good choice to try, especially we enjoyed the deal at 30% off as we booked through Eatigo apps.

Out of the Blue - Crispy halibut, served with spicy tartar sauce and truffle fries!

Chicken Parmo - Cheesy chicken, served with salads and truffle fries!

For both of us, the dinner comes at a total cost of $50, however after 30% discount, it becomes $35. It is quite a steal right 😄. One more thing to mention, this restaurant also has free seatings for us, and we got ourselves seated on tall chairs, and it is comfortable. It feels good to dine good foods in a great ambiance cafe.

No. 3 Crab Delicacy @ Tiong Bahru Singapore

Time to taste the famous crab in Singapore! We always hear that Singapore is famous for chilli crab and we have done some research on the crab shops in Singapore. Crab, crab, we are coming! We found No. 3 Crab Delicacy over website to be one of the restaurant that offers nice crab dishes and comes with a charge which is not sky high. There are a number of chinese seafood restaurants nearby when we alighted from the bus, and all of them are quite occupied as well.

Our aim was to eat chilli crab initially, but when we flipped the menu, we were truly spoilt for choice. There are a few crab dishes such as curry crab, chill crab, black pepper crab, butter crab, salted egg crab, steamed crab, crab with beehun etcetera. Not only that, there are prawns, chickens, fishes, and lots more, just like typical chinese restaurant but with more choices on how they prepare and cook the crab for connoisseurs.

We ordered curry crab at last as we not very fond of salty dishes and was informed by the owner of the restaurant that the recommended crab dish would be curry crab. On top of that, he mentioned that the curry crab served in the restaurant is well known to be the No.1 in Singapore! Not No.3 as the name of the shop 😂. You can order fried small bun (called "mantou" in chinese") for you to dip into the curry or chilli crab sauce and tug in. It was very delicious as the bun is getting soaked with the curry soup and when you bite it, it will start with a crunchy texture outside and followed by curry soup which "explodes" inside your mouth 😋.

The curry crab was served inside a claypot bowl. It is sufficient for 2 of us to eat, and the crab meat is succulent and juicy. It weighted nearly 1kg and the crab alone already priced at $63. They quoted the price based on the weight of the crab, with 100g at $6.50. It is truly not cheap, however just a reward to ourselves for working hard 😄. The claypot came with vegetables such as lady fingers and eggplants. The curry soup was very alike with curry fish soup. We felt like we were eating curry fish claypot, except fish was substituted by crab. The coconut milk smell inside the curry soup is quite strong as well. The curry soup is not at the truly spicy side, so I guess is quite suitable for everyone. Personally I feel the curry crab dish is generally nice, but the price is a bit at the high side. We ordered fried kangkung vegetables also as a side dish for us.

The No.1 curry crab in Singapore @ No.3 Crab Delicacy restaurant!

Fried kangkung vegetables

Bring home the taste of No.3 Crab Delicacy! Those who fond of the paste can opt to buy their curry paste, sambal belacan and black pepper for cooking at home. The restaurant is full house on the weekend and there are even large group of parties dining inside the restaurant. If you don't want to miss out the chance to taste the crab dishes in this restaurant, remember to call them for booking! The restaurant is located inside a hotel called Link Hotel, and thus can see many groups of foreigners have their dinner over there.

Our total bill came at a cost of ~$95 for two of us. It is certainly an expensive dinner, however it would be a treat for us once in a blue moon. From the receipt below, you can see they striked through towel row, as we were aware that they charged for the towel and we already returned the towel to them before starting of our meals. Can't save us much, only $1 but every penny counts right. Well, spent $95 already but commented on $1 towel, haha 😒

The restaurant was crowded and full house that day. It was located inside Link Hotel and well air-conditioned.

Tendon Ginza Itsuki (Japanese Dining) @ Tanjong Pagar

Crave for Japanese tempura prawns? I have been craving on Japanese foods for quite some time, especially for tempura lover like me. Recently I paid a visit to a Tanjung Pagar, purposely to satisfy my hunger on a bowl of tempura rice set. Tendon Ginza Itsuki is the first tendon restaurant in Singapore and it a collaboration with the highly acclaimed Ginza Itsuki Sushi restaurant in Tokyo, Japan. There are one row of seating available beside the restaurant and that's where your queue starts. The restaurant is friendly to the visitors as they have prepared iced barley tea near the seating area for you to quench your thirst while waiting for your turn. They have food menu hung on the wall and they will take your food order when is almost your turn. Do you always have an issue of difficulty in making food choices? Fret not, for this restaurant, there are only two options from food menu which are Special Tendon (tempura rice set) and Vegetable Tendon (vegetable tempura rice set). Go for Special Tendon if you are a meat lover as you can get yourself big tempura prawns and big chickens as well as half boiled egg inside the huge bowl. On the other hand, go for Vegetable Tendon if you are vegetarian! Easy right?

Exterior building of Tendon Ginza Itsuki

Food menu which only 2 sets available

The moment you step into the restaurant, you will be transferred to Japan for awhile, as there are Japanese musics playing constantly as the background while you enjoy your food. The smell of tendon is quite strong in the restaurant. The chef fries meat and vegetable by using different pans. And by controlling different ingredients at different frying temperature, they get the best tendon meat and vegetables on plates for your dining pleasure.

Here's my Special Tendon set for the day. It even comes with miso soup and chawanmushi. This chawanmushi is specially soft compared to outside one that I have ever tasted, I guess that's the power of egg yolk. After miso soup and chawanmushi as entree meal, here comes the Special Tendon rice bowl. It is very generous in portion. You get to eat 2 tempura prawns, 2 big chickens, one half boiled egg yolk hidden beneath the dishes, and a variety choices of vegetables. Since the food is tendon, hence is very soft and elastic compared to outside restaurants. I have not realized I was actually eating chicken, until I have been told by my bf. I thought it was fish all the while. The texture is really that soft.

Chawanmushi

Special Tendon Set!

Special mention on the rice as well, it is actually imported from Japan and guaranteed to be Japan rice, as they get the certification of using genuine Japan rice when I glanced through the certification that has been hung on the wall of the restaurant. So you can know that the rice here is actually fragrance and pearl shape like. The porcelain bowl used here also will help to retain the heat of your foods and you get enjoy the foods better even at a longer time. However, since there is always queue outside, so once we finished our foods, we will not be able to stay and spend longer time there. And, there is one thing to point out, the smell of tendon will "stuck" inside your clothes and it has been there for whole day! Guess that's the sacrifice for good foods.

So, head over to this restaurant and try out the dish yourself! There are a number of Japanese restaurant here and there is even Sapporo beer cafe. For beer lover, you can end your night with a glass of beer after the dinner.
