Located in Jalan Magazine Georgetown, we are visiting Mano (Platform 9 3/4) Fine Dining & Cellar as part of my hubby's special birthday celebration. Mano Fine Dining & Cellar is a magical theme fine dining restaurant with an elegant decoration of 'Harry Potter' theme, such as flying books on the wall. The chef has incorporated some innovative ideas into the foods menu to make it as magical as possible. Can you imagine drink with starry sky, balloon which is edible yet voice changing, 'grass' growing inside pot, become witch yourself to DIY potion, and a lot more?! 👀😍 The restaurant truly offers private and romantic dinner session for couples in Penang. It is often referred as one of the most  most romantic restaurant in Penang and diners often come here for special occasion celebration! 💕Believe it or not, on the day when we dined there, there are about 4 out of 6 tables are coming for birthday celebration! And they are so friendly to even stick 'Happy Birthday' balloon on the wall for EVERY tables, that's how attentive they are! 👍💜

Taste Review: The teatime is served in a 'pandora' box. Portion is big with 9 selections of pastries for each individual. The teatime menu is delicious and have a mixture of different pastries. Ends the sweet note of the teatime session with a cup of your preferred coffee/tea. We think the teatime is really value for money as the portion is big and filling!
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4⭐

Teatime table with beautiful 'Happy Birthday' decoration

Teatime served in a big 'pandora' box

The teatime portion is fulfilling with 9 pastries and 1 drink per pax

This reminds me of the Harry Potter's room beneath the staircases

Choose your preferred tea/coffee for the teatime, this is berry tea, smells sweet and nice

DINNER

After teatime, we make our way to dinner. We are being seated in Level 2 of the restaurant which is a private room for only both of us 😍! They even decorated the wall of the room with 'Happy Birthday' balloons 😁. I love the private space during dinner and truly blessed to be able to dine in here, thanks to the management for arranging the perfect venue for the night! I have taken some photos of the public dinner space as well, this restaurant truly offers romantic ambiance for diners. It is decorated mainly with red and black color which exude the elegant yet mysterious charm. 😻

Happy Birthday balloon decoration on the wall, makes the perfect photo spot

Interior of the restaurant with elegant settings

Flying books hanging from the ceiling

STARDUST DRINK

Menu: Lychee lemonade and house made blue wine. The ice cubes are made of blue pea flower. Waiter will pour some edible dust powder and shine the blue torch light on top of the drink, the shimmering dust powder will create a 'starry' 🌟 drink in front of your eyes! That's where the magic begins 👀!
Taste Review: Not only it is magical to see, it is nice and refreshing to drink too! This drink definitely captures my heart very much and 'wow' me since start of the show!
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 5⭐

Starry sky drink... is so magical under blue light..

Lychee lemonade and house made blue wine

Love this beautiful drink very much!

EGG PHILOSOPHY (1ST COURSE)

Menu: Egg philosophy but not an egg dish?! 🤔
Taste Review: The 1st dish is put inside an egg shell, there is egg white and egg yolk inside, but this is actually not an egg! Egg white is made of cauliflower puree and egg yolk is made of carrot puree. The chef is very innovative in making this dish, even the egg yolk is bursting when you bite it, much like 'flowing' egg yolk. Another dish on top of the spoon, it is topped up with bonito flakes and dried green chilli, the texture is very smooth and slippery so you need to finish this in one bite. It is like eating chilled soya bean curd as it is very smooth and the bonito flakes further elevates the flavor of the dish.
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4.5⭐

BREAD WITH HOUSE-MADE TRUFFLE BUTTER CREAM (2ND COURSE)

Menu: Crunchy raisin breads with house-made truffle butter cream
Taste Review: The bread is toasted until crispy texture, it smells nice and has raisins inside which enhance the sweetness. Love the truffle butter cream here, it is very smooth in texture. The truffle is not overpowering, so it can suit everyone palette. I would be happy if the truffle flavor can be more as I love truffle.
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4⭐

HOKKAIDO SCALLOP (3RD COURSE)

Menu: Hokkaido scallop with black caviar, bonito flakes and edamame beans
Taste Review: The scallop is fresh and juicy. It is flavorful when you mix with the sauce and bonito flakes together.
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4.5⭐

LAMB WITH COCONUT SAMBAL (4TH COURSE)

Menu: Lamb wrapped in starfish shape
Taste Review: The skin is made of coconut water, much like gelatin, it is shaped into starfish shape wrapping the lamb inside. Beside is tomato dressing with coconut sambal. I am not really a person into lamb, so it is average to me, good thing is the lamb smell is not overpowering here, so can say the chef has done a great job.
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 3.5⭐

FOIE GRAS WITH GROWING SALAD (5TH COURSE)

Menu: Magical growing salad in a pot?!
Taste Review: The 'plant' here is actually sliced green apple, made into the plant shape surrounding the foie gras. There is edible soil made of chocolate as well. When the waiter pours the lime juice on top of the 'plant', you can see the 'plant' is growing up (due to the absorbent material below), much like planting the tree, so they called it is growing salad! Not only it is magical to see, the main character foie gras is nice and flavorful to eat too!
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4.5⭐

CURRY POTION (6TH COURSE)

Menu: Be the witch yourself?! DIY the potion yourself hehe! 😎
Taste Review: This 'potion' or soup is actually made of curry and turmeric. Beneath it is sliced carrots which add on the sweetness of the soup. The curry smell is not overwhelming. The soup is more to fragrant and sweetness taste notes rather than curry smell which is a good thing. Stir it well before drink the soup! Imagine you are the witch yourself making the potion here! 😄
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 4⭐

Stir well before drink, I am the witch of the day haha xP 😂

MAIN COURSE SALMON & COD FISH (7TH COURSE)

Menu: Salmon (him) and cod fish (her)
Taste Review: Hands down to the tastiest fine dining main course we have ever tasted! 😃 The cod fish and salmon are juicy and succulent, it is deep in flavor as well! There is a nice crunchy skin layer on top cooked till perfection. The side dishes are presented in a beautiful way as well.
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 5⭐

LYCHEE MOOSE DARK CHOCOLATE DESSERT (8TH COURSE)

Menu: Knock the dessert to eat it?!
Taste Review: The most interesting dessert experience here. You need to knock the dessert using a hammer 🔨 in order to consume it! The dessert is presented in a ball shape, inside is lychee moose, outside is actually made of dark chocolate. The whole ball dish is edible. Fun way to crack open your dessert and delicious to eat!
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 5⭐

Use the hammer to knock the ball dessert!

It has been cracked open!

Inside is lychee moose, exterior skin is made of edible dark chocolate

Birthday boy is having fun knocking his dessert! 😀

Although is his birthday, but I am the one who blows the candle haha! 😂

Complimentary fragrant pandan cake for us, thank you so much!

EDIBLE BALLON (9TH COURSE)

Menu: Voice changing edible balloon?!
Taste Review: The most interesting experience here to end our day! It is an edible balloon made up of sweet cotton candy! And inside balloon is helium gas, when we suck the gas inside, our voice will be changed. Mine changed to a minion voice! Interested to know, just head to my Youtube video to have fun together! 😂👾 I even 'forced' him to sing happy birthday song with the funny voice, haha! It is really fun to play with and gives us such a memorable experience! 😍😁
Taste Rating (over 5⭐) : 5⭐

TeddyVille Museum @ Double Hilton Hotel Penang

Hello world, it has been quite some time since my last posting. Here I am back again on a new post! Well, I gotta share this new blog out as it is my favourite place in Penang. I have been revisited here once every year! It is TeddyVille Musuem! Located inside Double Hilton Hotel, it was opened since 2016 at Batu Ferringhi (famous tourist attraction at Penang). I personally enjoy outing day in Batu Ferringhi because it is like a little gem in Penang to hide away from hustle and bustle of city life. You will be able to see beaches, beautiful sunset with lots of water activities, hotels for you to roaming around during evening, and quite a number of romantic restaurants to end your day!

TeddyVille Museum in Penang is mainly a museum fulls of teddy bears, starts your journey with teddy bear history, followed by many sections that introduce Malaysia culture and festivals, famous tourist attractions in Penang, and tasty foods that you have to try when you are in Penang! You get to know more about Penang attractions and Malaysia festivals when you visit here. It is a place that not only kids can enjoy, adults can have lots of fun too! It is Beary Good and Cute till Bear Tahan (i.e. too adorable till can't hold it)!

Let's see, it is mainly segregated into the following sections. Let's have a map directory below to have a quick glance of what we have in TeddyVille Museum Penang. I have breakdown the museum into 4 main areas according to the color as highlighted below so it will be easier to see.

1. Gallery

Welcome to the Gallery of Teddy Bear where it houses the history of how teddy bear is made in this world and where the name Teddy came from? You can see how the "old time" teddy bear looks like in this area.

Famous Kek Lok Si Temple attracting thousands of visitors all year round. It is the biggest Buddhist temple in Malaysia with scenic view.
